Steven James Schurtter, 80, of Avon, IN, passed away June 23, 2022. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Cremation Society of Indiana, 4115 Shelby Street.

Our Condolences to everyone in Steve's Family. I met Steve 45 years ago on the side of the road in the pouring rain while we were riding motorcycles in opposite directions on the Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec. Since that day he and I have made numerous trips to each others homes in Avon and Montreal to Swift Current, Calgary and Lloydminster! Pictures of Judy and I and our children growing up were always displayed on his refrigerator and his newspaper clippings were on ours! Our children referred to him as Uncle Steve much to his delight. Steve hosted my son and I for the Indianapolis 500 in 2004! We sent lots of cards and letters back and forth and regular phone calls! We all are saddened greatly by the loss of a great old friend!!!!
