Shirley Mitchell

Shirley Mitchell, 69, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on August 5, 2024.

Shirley Mitchell was born May 9th, 1955, to Charles and Dorothy Jean Gamble. She was the 3rd eldest of 12 and was an alpha female who was fearless and never afraid to speak the truth. She received her education in Indianapolis public schools and won the Arsenal Tech High School Talent Show for singing. She married her late husband Michael Mitchell in 1982 they were married for 36 years. Shirley accepted Christ at an early age and would eventually dedicate her life to the Catholic Church. Shirley enjoyed sewing and tending to her garden and worked at the Goodwill greenhouse until retirement. She often volunteered during the holiday season for the Salvation Army for Christmas. She also served as a volunteer for the homeless serving meals during the holidays including Thanksgiving alongside her daughter Olivia. Shirley leaves behind her eight siblings, her son Jonathan, daughter Olivia, and her grandchildren Cora, Brandon, Gabriel, Adaria, Nathan, Darnell, Keyndall, Elijah, Jonathan W.
