Richard Lee Scarbrough, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024 at the age of 77. He was born on February 13, 1947 in Indianapolis to the late Maurice and Helen (Moore) Scarbrough three months premature. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Mike Scarbrough and a sister: Sharon Lunny . Richard graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1965 and was immediately drafted into the Army.
He served in Vietnam from November of 1966-November of 1967. Upon his return, he attended Indiana Business College and I.U.P.U.I. majoring in Psychology. He went on to work for the Indianapolis Postal Service for 26 years. He is survived by his loving partner and spouse of 54 years James J. Cline.
One of his greatest loves was gardening. He created a number of special flower gardens on his 17 acre homestead. Rich was also an extremely talented glass worker working in etched glass and stained glass. He loved and cherished his many pets including cats, dogs and a raccoon.
As per his wishes there will be no service. A memorial contribution can be made to the Indianapolis Humane Society. Friends are invited to leave online condolences for the family at Cremation Society of Indiana website.
