Larry Joe Lacy, 84, of Plainfield, Indiana, passed away on March 8, 2025, at Cumberland Trace Memory Care Center. He was born on May 7, 1940, in Muncie, Indiana. He was married to his wife, Evelyn, for 50 wonderful years, and she preceded him in death. As one of seven brothers and three sisters, Larry enjoyed being part of a large and lively family, which brought him great joy throughout his life.
He dedicated much of his career to the construction industry, working as a superintendent, where he was admired for his hard work and leadership. After his retirement, he found joy in bird watching, creating artwork, and, most of all, spending time with his granddaughters, who were his pride and joy. Those who knew him will fondly remember his wily smile and his love of joking and brightening the days of others.
He is survived by his sons, Kyle Lacy (Michelle) and Aaron Lacy; his granddaughters, Ainsley and Gracelyn Lacy; his brother, Tom Lacy; and his sister, Becky Louck. He was preceded in death by his parents, Parker and Estella, his twin sister, Linda, and several of his siblings.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Cherished Memories staff at Cumberland Trace for the excellent care Larry received during his time there. He truly enjoyed being part of the community, and the kindness and compassion shown to him will always be remembered.
Larry’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
