Joyce Theard

November 25, 1955 - July 22, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce that Joyce (Jody) Theard of Indianapolis has left this earth to be with her beloved husband Terry Theard on July 22, 2023. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She loved her family with her whole heart. She never met an animal she didn’t love and loved to joke and laugh, painting, gardening, hard work, and anything to stay busy. She leaves behind her dear sister Tonda Carter, daughters Amber Riddell, Lillian Theard and Seberina Hatten her grandsons Dylan Walk, Ryan Walk, Ethan Lewis and Brayden Hatten, Son in laws Rick (Brad) Walk, Luther Riddell, Ron Hatten and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Mother Martha Dickerson, Father Clinton B. McDonald, Brothers Clinton D. McDonald, Bobby J. McDonald, Mike McDonald, and sister Kelly McDonald. My sincere condolences to her daughters Lillian and Amber, I know they loved her beyond words. And the rest of the family. Jody was one of the most amazing, beautiful, strong and sincere women I have ever known. She was like a second mother to me and a second mawmaw to my sons Montana and Bije. They loved her so much! As do I! You’ll forever be in our hearts and missed more than I can put into words. I love you Jody! Thank you for always being there for all of us and for being my mothers best friend.

I will always remember her as her funny but crazy self! I remember times where she would not play about people messing with any of us kids and here she come out her house ready to rumble! I wasn’t as close with her as an adult but I remember she would tell us “now sissy (her daughter nick name) do not be bringing all that dirt in my house. She loved her family and loved them all! She will be miss by so many I am sure of it she is and was a great woman! Prayers to the family
