With deepest sorrow, we announce that Joseph Austin Kindregan II, age 40, our most beloved
and charismatic son, brother, family member, and friend, passed away suddenly on Saturday,
August 27, 2022. Those lucky enough to know Joe, even just a little, lost a shining light in their
lives.
Joe first blessed our world on December 13, 1981. Born and raised in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, where his unwavering love of all things “Philly” began. Upon graduating from
Northeast High School, Joe enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, where he served in
Alameda, CA, onboard the Coast Guard Cutter Sherman. Joe later became a graduate of the
Ocean County Fire and EMS Training Academy and served in the Ship Bottom Volunteer Fire
Company on Long Beach Island, NJ.
His adventures in life later landed him in Indianapolis. While in Indiana, he worked for the
Recovery Center of America and loved being involved in helping others on their recovery
journey. Joe successfully completed his own addiction rehabilitation program and used his
firsthand experience to guide others on their path to recovery.
Over the years, many have spoken out about how unique and special he was and how fortunate
they were to have known him. Joe had a heart of gold, a quick wit, a sparkling smile, and a
legendary sense of humor. He was intelligent, kind, and a loyal friend. Even as a kid, he had an
inquisitive mind, a rebellious nature, and an adventurous spirit. He lacked judgment of others
and was drawn to those in need. He was always the first to offer help and would give what he
had, even if it meant he’d do with less.
He was a devoted Philadelphia Flyers fan and wouldn’t miss a game. He really loved hockey and
shared that love with his father. His other loves were his family, helping others, reading, being a
Veteran, playing disc golf, long drives, working with his hands, firearm design & fabrication,
swimming, soda, as well as being at the beach, pulling pranks, playing volleyball, making people
laugh, winning at the pool table and creative writing.
Joe will forever remain in the hearts of his Father, Joseph Kindregan, his Mother Susan, his
sister Nicole Capobianco (John), his three nephews, his sister Carla Kindregan (Lucas), his
sister Jenell Webster (Dan), his grandmother Josephine Bunker (Gene), his Aunt Janice
Saporetti (Mike), his cousins Mike, Margie, Regina, Christy, as well as loving Aunts, Uncles,
Cousins and many, many great friends.
Although gone too soon, Joe will be remembered as the one-of-a-kind, beautiful soul we all
knew and loved beyond measure.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Wackerman Funeral Home Inc., 8060 Verree Rd.
Philadelphia, PA 19111 on October 15, 2022, at 11:00 am.
