Jan Hardesty Franklin, 60, passed away Wednesday April 12th, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born on March 24th, 1963, to Richard B. and Rita J. (Gatlin) Hardesty in Indianapolis, IN. Growing up in Greenwood, she graduated from Center Grove High School where she excelled in the band and Color Guard. She started her family soon after and then in 1995 she began her career at JPMorgan Chase which spanned over 20 years, most recently as a Subpoena Analyst. Always adventurous, brave, and fearless, she faced her battle with cancer head on and smiled in the face of great adversity. A favorite phrase of hers is “I love you to the moon and back”. She didn’t say this just as a catchy saying, but meant it deeply as was evidenced in her fiercely loyal, unconditional love for her family and friends. Preceding her in death were the two most important men in her life: her father, Richard, and her husband, Dave. She is survived by: her amazing mom, Rita, who was by her side always; her four children who gave her such joy: Jocelyn (Kyle) Copeland; Jameson, Justin (Bristi), and Jerad Moore; and her “adorables” who called her Nana and meant the world to her; Riley & Myles Copeland, Reagan, Waylon, Madelynn Moore and Hunter Moore; sister Diann (Jim) Roloff, nephews and nieces she loved as her own. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (themmrf.org).
