David Ash, 73, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on December 5, 2023.
David Richard Ash transitioned to the eternal embrace of his heavenly Father and his savior Jesus Christ on December 5, 2023. He had been battling esophageal cancer since Spring. He was born on August 15, 1950, to Donald and Janice (Eding) Ash.
His most special gift was to love. He was fully present and active in the lives of all he loved and was a joy to all who knew him. He had a great appreciation for all people, and people knew that by the way he treated them.
He attended St. Ann’sParish school through eighth grade and graduated from Maumee High School in 1968. He attended the University of Toledo for a short time—the first in his family to go to college. His thirst for knowledge was unsatiable. He was well-read and researched anything that interested him. His work ethic was second to none and he will be fondly remembered by colleagues and customers from the places he worked. Kirchenbauer Paint, Modern Builders Supply, and JC Penney are some of the companies that were better because of the time David shared his talents and intense intellect with them.
He married Sharon Friedman on December 29, 1988.
A transfer for brought David, Sharon, and Sharon’s son Ryan to Indianapolis, where they created and nurtured a wonderful family. David so enjoyed the time spent with Ryan as he grew and loved participating in all his activities. The amount of joy David garnered from his grandchildren, Parker, Owen, and Samantha, was immeasurable.
Left to cherish the time they had with him are his loving and devoted wife of almost 35 years, Sharon Ash, son Michael (Jamie) Ash, stepson Ryan (Stacie) Munger, grandchildren Parker (Hannah), Owen, and Samantha Munger, brothers, sisters, and in-laws Sharon (Robert) Kwiatkowski, Charlotte Hurst, Darrell (Sandy) Ash, Donald Ash, Daniel (Vickie) Ash, Patty Walkup, Cathy (David) Krueger, Suzie (Gary) Riley, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Sharon’s parents Fred and Teresa, brother Douglas Ash, and brothers-in-law John Hurst, Rankin Walkup, David Friedman, and Kenny Friedman.
David’s wishes were to not have any services and he will be cremated. David wanted all to remember him in their own unique ways.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The Cremation Society of Indiana, 4115 Shelby Street. Leave A Message or Share A Memory.
