Remembering the life and legacy of Byron Lee McKissack 63. Sunrise June 25, 1956 – Sunset June 15, 2020.
Byron was born in Louisville, Kentucky and spent his formative years in Cleveland, Ohio. He was raised in church and at an early age, he made the intelligent decision to make Jesus his choice. Byron received his early education in Cleveland and matriculated in adulthood to the University of New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana where he studied Mechanical Engineering. Byron was imaginative, creative, resourceful, adventurous, and ambitious. He loved to sing and was a great cook also. He loved his family and his friends and will be greatly missed by all.
Preceded in death by his loving mother, Doris L. McKissack 2011; grandparents; aunts; and uncles. Byron is survived by father, Clarence E. McKissack, Sr. Indianapolis, IN; brothers, Juan (Vivian) McKissack, Sr., Keith McKissack, Clarence McKissack, Jr., and Howard McKissack; sisters, Janell (John) Martin and Laurell McKissack all of Indianapolis, IN; brothers, Randal (Rhonda) McKissack, Sr. of Waldorf, MD and Kenneth McKissack Memphis, TN. Byron is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
