Orville Hunter Jr. passed away on July 10, 2021, at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on March 1, 1934, in Bloomington, Indiana.
Orville was a Veteran of the Armed Forces. When he had completed his tour, he married and moved to California. There, he joined Rocketdyne, an Aerospace Company, for 15 years and then retired. He then went on to become a successful California Realtor and later Co-Owner of a successful escrow company in Woodland Hills, CA. When his step-father, James Humphrey, who also retired from Rocketdyne and was newly diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, he followed his parents to Indiana to care for them. For many years Orville raised a successful vegetable garden, providing vegetables to family and friends. He was a member of several organizations in Indiana, as well as, the constant companion of his cat, “Bucko”, for 18 years.
Orville is survived by his daughters, Tina Hunter and Cindy Hunter; and son, Robbie Hunter.
Orville was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Payton Humphrey; step-father, James Humphrey; father, Orville Hunter, Sr.; brother, Ray Hunter; sisters, Mary Brame, of Washington State, and Madonna Hughes, of Little Rock, Arkansas; and great aunts, Mildred Payton and Bea Allison, of Indiana.
