Mark A. Poynter

April 5, 1955 - September 4, 2020

Mark A. Poynter, age 65, passed away Friday, September 4th, 2020 in Noblesville, Indiana. He was born in New Castle, Indiana to Joan (Saul) Poynter and Ernest Poynter.
Mark was a Deputy for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, a good cigar, country music and will be remembered for his contagious belly laugh. He was John Wayne’s biggest fan and swore that he would be standing next to God at the pearly gates waiting for him. He was the son of a Sailor and a very proud father one who is currently serving.
He is survived by his sister Nancy (Poynter) Fullerton, daughters Lisa (Poynter) Merchant and Madison Poynter, son Chase Poynter, son-in-law Joe Merchant, and daughter-in-law Marie Poynter.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Mike Poynter.
Arrangements will be a Celebration of Life on September 19th, 2020 in Brown County State Park from 2pm to 6pm. His celebration is open to all.

Going to forever miss you Jolly. The world lost one of the good ones and Heaven gained a beautiful soul.

Lost one of my 3 best friends. Going to miss us bitching about about our childrens good things and bad. We would take turns going down the list. Thats one thing we enjoyed to see who had it worst that week. And i lost my goodwill buddy i was hoping he would of gotten better so we could of continued our weekly trips. Its going to be hard to find a buddy like him. Im glad he is now pain free and is now with his brother. Their lots going thru my mind but i wont ? yall with them .
