Patricia Shepard

Patricia “Patti” Ann (Harrison) Shepard, 63, died on August 6, 2020 due to complications from her battle with cancer.

Patti was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 21, 1957 to her parents, Russell and Opal Harrison. She was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in 1975. Patti married Bruce Petree that same year and they started their family in the coming years. Patti is remembered as a hard worker, a caring wife, a loving mother, and an amazing grandmother. She had a deep love for extended family as well and cherished the memories and time spent with them. She was a devoted and faithful friend. Patti had an incredible sense of humor, a love for nature, was a voracious reader, enjoyed music, and had an enduring faith to the end.

Patti is survived by her sons, Caleb (Wendy) and Charles Petree; her grandsons, Joshua and Isaiah Petree; her oldest sister, Sandy (James) Bennett; brother, Bill (Sarah) Harrison; her youngest sister, Diana (Jess) Collins-Giles; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Opal Harrison; and her sister, Mary Workman.

A celebration of life will be planned and announced at a later date.

Sweet friend, I've only just learnt of your passing. Thank you for always sharing your more interesting stories with me. For being a coconspirator in moments of kindness and calm at our day job. For the gift of citrine and the intention of easing my suffering during a dark and challenging time. You were one of the good ones. I am grateful for you and the memories I get to carry. You fought bravely, always. Rest well, Patti. May you have well-deserved peace.

I shared a love of music with Patti. We often talked about it and I kept her supplied with music thu her treatments. I am going to miss her greatly. Condolences to those who loved her. At a Xmas party from work one year I spent most of the evening discussing music with her son Charlie. I will remember that always. Rest in Peace, Patti...

Patti, I recall the days of yesteryear when I would watch you & Diana after school before your Mother arrived home from work. Those were some fun times especially when Diana would do a goofy face at you when you would make (what she thought was) a silly statement. I know you are no longer in pain as you are in HIS presence. And I also know you have been united with your parents & Mary "Deedle" Dee. What a reunion!!!! You definitely fought a good fight........but God decided it was time for you to come Home. Family & friends will miss you sorely but those which keep the faith will see you again someday. So until then (as I call you & Diana) love to you little sister. Always in our hearts. Joann

Dear Patti, Always knew you as a soft spoken, somewhat shy, goofy giggling, and a kind & fun loving soul. Of your many talents alwaus amazed how you played the mandolin! Proud to be Bruce Petree's "best man" in your wedding and god-father, of your awesome Caleb! You are, and will be, always missed. I never got to meet her, but her sister Diana told me so many good things about her I do love her. She will be greatly missed.
