Tammy Kay Rogers (Booker) was born September 7th, 1967 in Seymour, departed this life from the comforts of her home on November 11th, 2024.
In her former years Tammy worked at Rally’s in Seymour serving laughter and fighting frustration at times. Throughout the decades all the ladies at Rally’s became one big extended family and even some of the children joined in working together in all the excitement that that place could be. One small building filled with years of memories that time will never erase. When not at work she would spend her time surrounded by those she loved, 80s music, and laughter. If asked, most would say Tammy was one who you wouldn’t really want to mess with, but also one who had a heart big enough for everyone. She loved deeply and protected those she cared for fiercely. This carried over into the new life she made for herself when she moved from Seymour to Edinburgh. Loaded down with a few bags and fewer boxes, Tammy made a new life and a sweet home for herself. Working for years at Circle K until she was unable to due to health issues, she made many more friends among the local churches. She was very proud of herself for becoming sober and very proud of her children and all they did. Who she loved to call and tell them just that, or to chat about anything. Every day. Multiple times. After she was unable to work, she set her sights on her oven and everything she could do with it, always wanting to make things from scratch and loving her sweets, her family and friends, local wildlife critters (whom she fed and talked nonstop about), reading her bible and writing about what she read. She enjoyed making things, learning, and spending time with her grandbabies. She enjoyed making new friends or being the “someone” for anyone. She would give someone the shirt off her back but could also talk or barter almost anyone out of theirs as well, she had a special way about her and had such a dominant presence in the lives of so many. The many stories and memories of her will surely continue to bring laughter and comfort for years to come.
Receiving her with open arms and loving embraces on the other side were, her mother Carlene Rogers, grandfather Carl Vester Rogers, brother Robbie Rogers, former husband, (affectionately known as the only man she truly ever loved) Timothy Wayne Booker, grandson Samuel Wayne Booker, and Mr. Kitty Cat Sampson.
Left behind to mourn her loss but cherish her memory are her three children, Corey Allen Robinson, Kasandra Kay (Booker) Spence, Tori Rene Booker, her son in law Charles Fredrick Spence, grandbabies, Braysha, Coreyana, Karma, Corey, Jacqueline, Constantine, Jerika, Layla, and Elijah, sister Charlena (Cher, Cherrie) Rogers (Booker), niece Courtney Paige Booker, nephew Christopher Bailey Booker, nephew Trenton Rogers, niece Kenisha Booker, nephew Dominic Booker (who grew up close like children of her own) and many more, as well as extended family and many friends.
Per her personal wishes, she will be cremated. There will be no formal service, but instead a Celebration of Life.
There will be a small ceremony to take place on Sunday December 1st starting at 2:00 pm, with a gathering and dinner to follow from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Clubhouse of the Ashford Park Apartments . 1001 Ashford park pl, Columbus, In 47201.
