Stephen “Steve” Von Crouch, age 73, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and granddaughters. He was known for his humor, kindness, and selfless heart. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored beyond measure.
Born on April 27, 1952, Steve was a 1970 graduate of Anderson High School. He went on to work skilled trades as a machine repairman for Guide Lamp, where he proudly dedicated many years before taking early retirement. After retiring, he found happiness in simple pleasures—especially taking his grandchildren to the Anderson Dolphin Club and sharing his love of life with them.
Steve had a passion for buying and selling gold and could often be found at local auctions, enjoying the thrill of the hunt and the friendships he made along the way.
He was also an excellent cook, known among family and friends for his famous Potato Soup, French Onion Soup, Beef Stew, and Cinnamon Friendship Bread. His home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and good food.
His favorite place was Fort Myers Beach, where he cherished time spent by the water and had a special fondness for the clock at Times Square. Always ready with a quick wit or a good joke, Steve had a remarkable way of bringing smiles to those around him.
Steve will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his love, humor, and generosity will live on through the many lives he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathy Joan Stephens Crouch. His Children Ben Crouch, Billy Crouch, James (Marie) Teague, Paul (Jessica) Teague. Grandchildren Zachary Boyd, Hannah (Ryan) Hoover, Bailey (Ethan) Crenshaw, Grace Teague, Brynn Teague, Morgan (Caleb) Cox, Aryn (Justin) Holding, Jameson Teague, Regan and Carter Crouch, and Willa Crouch.
