Mrs. Shauna Smith, born November 13, 1980, left the bonds of this world on March 20, 2025. Her loss is deeply felt by those who were fortunate enough to have known her loving and cheerful spirit.
Surviving Shauna is her wonderful husband, Dustin Smith, and her two precious daughters, Carleigh and Kaelynn Mercier. Her loving Mother Cynthia Hutchings, her brother, Micheal Stonecipher, also survives her as does her father-in-law, David Smith, brother-in-law, Dave Smith, and her sister-in-law, Erica Smith. Her grandfather, J Masteller, will no doubt miss her vibrant presence.
Shauna was predeceased by her warm-hearted mother-in-law, Diana Smith, her father, James Stonecipher Jr., grandmother, Catherine Masteller, and her beloved grandparents Joyce and James Stonecipher Sr.
A woman of valued education and dedication, Shauna was not only a holder of a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice but also worked diligently as a case worker. Her commitment and passion for her work were a testament to her kind-hearted nature and her tireless effort in making the world a better place. Her absence will leave a gap in the hearts of those she worked with and assisted, family and friends.
Shauna held a soft spot for beautiful vacation spots and had a particular fondness for Florida and taking luxurious cruises. Her exciting and bubbly personality was truly infectious and lit up her favorite vacation spots.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Shauna on April 6, 2025, at 2 PM until 5pm at Peru Maennerchor, 154 Wabash Street in Peru Indiana where we will remember and honor her beautiful spirit.
Shauna was a woman of vibrant character and sunshine-like cheerfulness. She loved putting other people first. Her absence will be significantly felt, but her memory and legacy will continue through her family and friends who loved her. We take comfort in knowing that her bright spirit is now spreading joy in heaven.
