Deepest sympathy to the family. Sam was a special person and friend. We enjoyed working with him for many, many years at the IU Law School.

Sam was incredibly warm and friendly every time I saw him. I often ran into him at Fresh Market and we would talk at length. He was alway very proud of Sam and he was very proud to be a part of the Christ the King community. He volunteered for everything he could to support Sam....I remember the cold December camping trip when everyone was in the third grade...his hand was the first to go up to volunteer. We have proof of his photography skills in our house, as he took pictures of both of our girls playing basketball with Larry coaching. Well done, thy good and faithful service and I hope I live a life good enough to see him when the Lord calls me home.

Sam always made me smile. I haven’t seen him in a long time, but we shared a love of bridges, especially the Golden Gate Bridge. Sorry for your loss.

In addition to all of his other endeavors, Sam was a wonderful photographer of the life at iU Robert H. McKinney Law School and the Indianapolis legal community for many years. He approached his work with zest and grace, an important and lasting lesson for all of us. We are better (and certainly photographed better!) because of your pursuit of art in our hectic world. Rest in peace, Sam.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Sam was such a laid-back guy. He made you feel good when you saw his (his term) "stone-bald head" rising above the rest. He helped our band "Polkaboy" take many professional shots from which PJ Yinger created great posters and album covers for the band. I last saw Sam when I ran right into him walking down Kirkwood Ave. about ten years ago. The world lost a very gentle soul.

Sam, Nancy, Susan and I have been friends since childhood. We grew up in the same neighborhood and went to School 80, together. You would find us playing together, all the time. When I think of Sam, I see this really tall red head with a huge smile and always laughing. His laugh was infectious. He was a great guy and loved having fun. This is how I will always remember Sam.
