Nancy Lucille Amon (Pinkerton), age 78, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on June 16, 1947, in Hammond, Indiana, Nancy brought joy and laughter to those around her throughout her vibrant life.
Nancy was the beloved wife of James Amon of 49 years, and a devoted mother to Tracy Adamson (Fosnaugh) and her husband Mike Adamson; Jayson Fosnaugh; James Amon Jr. and his wife Lorrie Amon; Linda Volpe (Amon) and her husband Augustus Volpe; and Lisa King (Amon) and her husband Dan King. She was a cherished grandmother to eleven grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to two great-grandchildren. Nancy also leaves behind her loving sister Lesslie Coffin, along with many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Frances Pinkerton; her sister Patrica Geisen; and her brother Thomas Pinkerton.
She had a zest for life that was infectious. Known for her sharp wit, feisty spirit, and boundless sense of humor, she was truly the life of every gathering. Her fun-loving nature made every moment spent with her memorable.
Her passions were as colorful as her personality. She found great joy in gardening and working in her yard, where she cultivated beauty with care and pride. She loved crafting and sewing—creative outlets that reflected both her skillful hands and imaginative mind. Her kitchen was often filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals and baked treats, as cooking for others brought her immense happiness. Bird watching offered moments of quiet reflection amidst nature’s wonders, while time spent with friends brought laughter and lasting memories.
Nancy’s legacy is one of love, laughter, creativity, and resilience. Her presence brightened the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories that will continue to inspire those she touched.
