Keith Edward Young, age 89, passed away on Sunday, February 11,2024

He was born on April 18, 1934 in Indianapolis to Christian Young and Anna Young (Inman).  He married Barbara Parker, and they were married for more than sixty years before her passing in 2019.  They had two daughters, Nancy and Becky.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents Christian and Anna Young, his wife Barbara Young, his daughter Nancy Young, and his twin brother Kenneth Young.

Keith is survived by his daughter Becky Merrill and fiancé David Wilson who he lived with. He has two grandsons, Jordan Merrill and wife Taren Merrill along with Chad Merrill and his wife Jillian Merrill. He also had two great-grandchildren, Arie and Elora Merrill, with one on the way that is expected in July 2024.

Keith graduated from the Indiana School for the Deaf, and attended two years of college at Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.

He worked for more than thirty years as a printer at the Indianapolis Star and News. Upon retirement he and Barbara moved to Ponce Inlet, Florida and lived there for more than twenty years enjoying the beach and wonderful weather.

He loved the beach, sun, boating and swimming and spending time with his family and friends. He had an active friend group that often met for euchre tournaments, friendly poker games and many social gatherings.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the American Legion Post 500 at 1926 Georgetown Road, Speedway, IN. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00-2:00 pm with a short service to follow. The legion will then stay open for food, drinks and time to share memories of Keith. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Society of Indiana.
