Barbara Rebecca (Becca) Byrd of Richmond, Indiana suffered a fatal brain aneurysm on Wednesday October 22. Born in Wabash, Indiana on September 13, 1983, Becca was a longtime Richmond resident and worked for a family business for over 20 years.
Becca enjoyed cooking, country music, playing guitar, and had recently become an avid gardener. She was fiercely independent, an animal lover from a young age, and cared deeply for her family and friends. Above all, Becca found happiness and joy in being a mother to her young daughter.
Becca is survived by her mother Sylvia Ferrell of Richmond, father Richard Byrd of Richmond, daughter Erica, partner Mike Marker and his family, sisters Natalie (Matt) Plecity and Liz (Nick) Welsh, brother Sam (Sarah) Byrd, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and friends.
She had friends from all walks of life and always showed up for them. In the spirit of her generosity, her last selfless act was donating her organs and tissue on Sunday, October 26. A celebration of life will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Erica’s Future Fund. Contributions are welcome via Zelle or check. Use the email address sambyrd350@gmail.com if giving through Zelle. Checks should be made payable to Erica Anderson and mailed to: 814 Henley Rd, Richmond, IN 47374
Arrangements have been entrusted to The Cremation Society of Indiana, 4115 Shelby Street. Please leave a message or share a memory.
