James Lyman Roadruck, 80 of Greenwood Indiana passed away on Saturday August 31, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital-South campus. Born July 15, 1939 in Morocco, Indiana. He was the son of the late Edwin Roadruck and Thora Roadruck (Johnson). Preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Wenger Roadruck.
James (Jim) proudly served his county in the United States Army, and his final duty station was Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He was honorably discharged in 1964. James continued to serve his community as a police officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. He retired in 1987 after 20 years of faithful service. Following his retirement James moved to Australia where he stayed for 10 years. He then became a world traveler and visited places such as England, Germany, Japan and many other countries. After a time, James moved to Greenwood, Indiana to care for his aging parents.
He was a patient and kind man who enjoyed fishing with the “Hardluck” bass team, bull riding and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Deborah Knapp of Mascoutah, Illinois and his son Jonathan Roadruck of Greenwood, Indiana. His three Brothers; Terry Roadruck, Doug Roadruck, and Stephen (Joe) Roadruck. James had eight (8) grandchildren and four (4) great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Family and friends will gather to remember him and celebrate his life at the home of Jonathan and Pamela Roadruck, 910 Hacienda Place, Greenwood Indiana. Open House will be from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday September 7, 2019.
