Deedee Rose Batman Malott

June 10, 1966 - March 28, 2019

Deedee Rose Batman Malott, 52, was called home to be with her Lord on March 28, 2019. She was born on June 10th, 1966 to Richard E. Batman and Mary E. (Poncho) Robertson Batman in Indianapolis, IN. She attended Stout Field Elementary, South Wayne Jr. High, and Ben Davis High School. While in grade school, she was active in 4H and was able to exhibit at the Indiana State Fair. She also delivered the Indy Star newspaper, where she won trips to St. Louis and Washington, D.C. While at BDHS, she was in the ROTC. She talked about joining the military, but she found boys, and all that changed. Dee loved animals and was always bringing in strays. This seemed to carry over to her adult life. Deedee married Phil R. Malott on June 13th, 1986. She is survived by her children: Desiree Hendricks (Jerry), Philip Edwin Malott, and Amanda Marie Latner. She has 4 grandchildren: Kirsten Michelle Roell, Morgan Michelle Roell, Blake Awesome Hendricks, and Toby Andrew Inman. Deedee worked for the Dept. of Workforce Development for over 20yrs. Dee never saw the bad in people. She had a good heart and would do without in order to help her family and friends. She had touched so many lives. Dee is proceeded in death by her 1st husband, Phil, her dad, Richard, and her brother, Richard Allen. A Celebration of Life will be held April 6th, 2019 at Heartland Church of Christ 1693 W. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46142. Visitation is from 10am til 12pm with the service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Julian Center.

Love and miss you mom Once upon a time an angel held my hand. She wiped away my tears and helped me understand Our time on Earth is brief; there are lessons to be learned. Each precious day God gives us, another page is turned. Every chapter full of memories, times of joy and tears, Triumphs and defeats, through every passing year. She loved us unconditionally, always by our side. When no one else would listen, in her we could confide. With gentle words of wisdom, she led us on our way, Down the paths of righteousness if ever we did stray. She saw the light in everyone and gave with no regrets, Always from her heart, let's not forget. Angels come in many forms; for me it was my mother. With love I cannot say in words there'll never be another. Every day I turn the page, in my heart will ever remain Everything she taught me as I stroll down memory lane. Thank you, God, for giving me the most priceless of all treasures. Help my, Lord, to keep alive her memory here forever. I pray that I can someday be everything she hoped I would, That she's smiling down from heaven knowing she did good. As we gather here today, there's no ending to her story. Another chapter has begun, full of grace and glory. God's called her to his heavenly home, part of his great plan. Although it may be hard, we all must understand. Faith is what is hoped for, things we cannot see. Heaven is promised to all of us if only we believe.

To Deedee's family, I remember Deedee from my time at DWD. Deedee was always helpful to me and a very knowledgeable and dedicated employee. I enjoyed talking with her and thought she was very kind. My heart is heavy for you, her family and her work family. My sincere sympathy is extended to you.

First of all... my deepest condolences to DeeDee’s children, grandchildren & extended family. I went to school with DeeDee from elementary to high school. When we were freshmen at South Wayne Junior High School we went to Mexico with our Spanish class. Although we were no roomies, we all had a blast on that trip! I am so saddened by her untimely death and that her grandchildren are denied their lives with their grandmother and her children denied their mother. I know she was a sweet girl and had a heart of gold. We have not had contact over the years after High school but I know if I had run into her it would have been like we had never lost touch.
