Betty Jane Tapp of Greenwood, IN passed away on December 27, 2021 at her residence. She was born a daughter of the late Dewey A. and Elsie Juanita Hamilton Brown and raised in Bristol Tennessee until she was 6 years old and then moved to Indiana where she joined Gospel Assembly Church. She grew up in Indiana and married Ronald Dwayne Tapp on July 4th 1970. Mr. Tapp passed away on June 7, 1993. On December 27, 1971 their daughter Teresa L. Tapp Montgomery was born. Betty worked for Jerrys as a waitress and while employed there she got to wait on and meet Porter Wagner and Minnie Pearl. She also worked retail and at the food court for LS Ayers, and stayed with them as they changed to Airway, then to Target T-130 where she loved Arnold Day at the Indy 500 track where she also met and became friends with Chip Kaneski the owner of Target Racing. Betty loved the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist church of Greenwood for about 10 years. She loved the Indianapolis Colts, she was a number one COLTS FAN, she also loved going to the Indianapolis Checkers Hockey games back in the 80’s. Betty is survived by her daughter Teresa L Tapp Montgomery and her husband Ronald Montgomery, her 2 grandchildren Stacy Montgomery and Ronald Montgomery JR ( RJ) and a sister-in-law Diana Tapp Craig of Rosharon, Texas, A brother-in-law Donnie Tapp of Indianapolis, Indiana and another sister-in-law Pat Tapp of Martinsville, IN along with lots of cousins in Tennessee and many nieces and nephews from all parts of Indiana and out of state. The Cremation Society of Indiana, 4115 S. Shelby Street, Indianapolis, IN 46227 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
