Larry was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Richard (deceased) and Estelle (deceased) Loucka. He grew up with his sister Linda (deceased) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the first in his family to go to college, where he met his wife Susan (Martyn) Loucka. He spent his life in the pursuit of learning as much as he could about any subject, but especially astronomy. He loved to pass that knowledge on to anyone and everyone, and taught many scout groups, school groups, and anyone else who showed an interest in the subject. In self-defense, all of his brothers- and sisters-in-law, as well as nieces and nephews, learned something of astronomy. He was an engineer, as well as an inveterate tinkerer, who was always trying to find a way to make almost any machine or electronic device work better. His favorite electronics project was his Santa Claus lights-and-music Christmas display. And he was a lover of animals of all kinds and someone who did his best to support conservation efforts. He passed away on September 24, 2021, from a heart attack. Contributions to The Nature Conservancy, the World Wildlife Fund, or the American Heart Association will be appreciated. The Cremation Society of Indiana 4115 Shelby Street Indianapolis, IN is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
