We are heartbroken to share the unexpected passing of Jeffrey A. Jones, 56, on February 7th in Indianapolis, IN. Jeff was born to the late Diane (Kavanaugh) and James Jones on August 25, 1964 in Beech Grove, Indiana.
Jeff worked hard in his education and talented career as an electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (Local 481), held a Masters electrician license, and recently became HVAC certified. Jeff thoroughly enjoyed and was truly talented in his career.
Outside of his work, he enjoyed going to the race track at the Indianapolis Speedway and Kitley, riding bikes on the Monon trail, fishing, blasting Elvis on his laptop with his grandson, and hanging out with his family and friends. He was never above helping someone in need and was rarely seen without a huge smile on his face.
Jeff is survived by a loving daughter, Paige Jones (grandson, Westyn Mink); step-daughter, Kimberly Jefferson (grandchildren, Coraline, Runa, and Finnegan); brother, Larry Jones; sister, Christine (Jeff) Wright (nephews and nieces, Nicholas, Charity, Courtney, Jeremiah, and Shelby); partner, Barbie Osborne (her son, Troy); paternal aunt, Betty (Herbert) Jones Kremer; uncles, Robert (Lou) Jones and A.J. (April) Jones; in addition to extended family and cousins on both Jones’ and Kavanaugh sides.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Sunnyside Baptist Church on February 27, 2021 at 1pm. All are welcome to attend and please follow all of the Covid and social distancing protocols. Jeff always spoke of his friends and cared deeply for each and every one. Please feel free to reach out to express condolences or share them in the comments.
Our family asks that in lieu of flowers a memorial donation (to a college fund for Jeff’s grandson) can be made at
PayPal.me/WestynMink or via check to Westyn Mink via Paige.
